In my last post I was talking about the fashion of the sixties, but what about the art of the sixties?While I have been thinking of a post for all of this my house has been invaded by Vampire lovers. My wife is on her second reading of all the Twilight novel series, and my baby sitting niece is re-reading Bram Strokers' Dracula. I'm surrounded. So I just had to look up some vampire movies for our next movie night, keeping in mind the sixties and the art of the cinema poster that I love I found this amazing site. The Wrong Side of Art is an incredibly loaded with bright posters of all kinds, all eras, all countries, it's just a great source of inspiration.

And of course I had to load up a French poster...LOL

Copenhagen Fashion Week

It looks like Europe is the place to be or at least Copenhagen, for fashion these days.

I love the sixties, early sixties, It's something I have been looking into more and more.The fashion of the sixties was some of the classiest, and I'm glad its influencing some of the mod out there right now. And I love these photos...courtesy of Stylesightings of course. His pictures always quite beautiful, simple, elegant and vibrant. He truly has a great job!

It is amazing the amount of talent out there. Here's a perfect example of yet another artist breaking the mold, English painter James Roper. While remaining abstract, you can pick up the influences of anime, comics in every detail. It makes me try to figure out exactly what I'm looking at, sending my mind into a whirlwind ...Warning: Visual explosions abound...

Back in the day, there were those quiet times when I'd actually sit and listen to an entire album, while studying the cover and all the artwork inside as if I was going to find something no one had ever seen before. aaahhh way back when.
I still have my collection of vinyls. Kept them with me everywhere I moved , from my parents, to college apartment to more college apartments. Still, even though I haven't had a record player since the early nineties. (I just dated myself, LOL) I couldn't let myself part with them. So when I saw this it hit a special place... This is kind of a different take on that, from artist Huw Gwilliam. ...Combines my true loves music and design. It was just for fun and look at all the recognition he's gotten, way to go! David Carradine from such things as Kung Fu (the Tv series) and more recently as Bill in Kill Bill, was found dead in Bangkok ...You'll be missed young Grasshoper.

Well It's finally happened! I officially started a blog. LOL. A little late but better than never...

So basically I'll be ranting and raving here, hoping to share my humble opinions ( I know, like some many others already) on things like Art, Design and Music and things I find interesting on this Web thing... So to kick things right off.

There's No denying Quentin Tarantino has been a major influence in Pop Culture. From his uncanny dialogue sequences which have now become a regular part of our everyday vocabulary (even if we don't know we're doing it) to the horrifyingly violent and thought provoking images he has embedded into our subconscious. It's easy to see his influence in countless movies since Reservoir Dogs . He has also kept one universal link in all of his movies, great music. He has brought out forgotten gems from the past and made them new again, and again for the next generation.

So when I found this, I thought it should be shared.

I found it while browsing for upcoming posts at this site, by an amazing artist Christopher Cox check out his site and blog , Change the thought .

A great site filled with beautiful Art and really interesting work. ( It's everything my blog wants to be when it grows up.)
